Introducing Our New Canoe Paddles for 2026

4-minute read

We’re proud to introduce our three newest canoe paddles for 2026: The Horizon, the BB Outfitter and the Waypoint.

These new paddles represent a wide range of materials, looks and budget—and all are made with our renowned dedication to quality and durability.

The Horizon: Fiberglass and Carbon Expedition Paddle

This exciting new addition to our high-end canoe paddle line looks amazing and performs at peak toughness. Its hand-crafted compression-molded fiberglass blade has a bold and colorful, yet traditional design that canoeists will love.

One extra special feature about this paddle is the rows of aramid thread stitched around the blade’s tip—15.5 feet (4.72 meters) in total. This stitching makes Horizon rugged enough for expedition use and abuse, including up to Class III whitewater. We call this patent-pending edge protection Lam-Lok™

Lam-Lok™ ensures the layers of material and fiberglass won’t delaminate. It adds impact and abrasion resistance up to five times better than that of similar paddles without it (according to our in-shop tests).

The Horizon features a 100% carbon straight shaft with a carbon blade peg, along with a shatter-proof plastic Hooked T-Grip for superior control and comfort. Its 127.5 square inches of blade means you can pull a lot of water with each stroke. At the same time, it weighs just 23 ounces (652 grams), making it light enough for long days on the water as well as for quick maneuvering whenever needed.

The Horizon is specifically designed for up to Class III whitewater and multi-day expedition trips. It’s available from 52-62 inches in 2-inch increments with a 2026 MSRP of $349.95 USD.

BB Outfitter ST and 11: All-Wood Beefy Recreational Paddle

We took our best-selling BB Special design and beefed it up to serve the rigors of outfitters and rental shops. We kept the price within budget for most everyday paddlers who want the beautiful look and feel of wood but demand extra toughness for their excursions.

How does the new BB Outfitter meet the toughness standards of these customers?

Thicker wood in the blade, throat and shaft for added durability
Heavier fiberglass wrap around the blade
Rockgard edge protection around the entire blade instead of just the tip

The Outfitter—both straight and bent shaft models—is hand-crafted of basswood and red alder for beauty in the blade. The 18-laminate shaft is super durable, and it’s ovalized for extreme comfort, especially paired with our Classic Palm Grip (bent shaft) or Freestyle Palm Grip (straight shaft).

The BB Outfitter ST and BB Outfitter 11 are specifically designed for canoeists looking for an ultra-durable wood paddle at a great price. It’s ideal for outfitters, rental shops and adventurous everyday paddlers.

It weighs 26 ounces, is available in lengths from 52-62 inches (in 2-inch increments) and sells for $179.95 USD (2026 price).

Waypoint: Nylon and Fiberglass “Best-Value” Recreational Paddle

We haven’t introduced an entry-level canoe paddle in a long time, and we’re excited about the Waypoint for new and casual paddlers. It has a sleek, modern look and delivers great performance.

Unlike other entry-level canoe paddles, the Waypoint has a fiberglass shaft that’s both lightweight and warm on your hands. That’s especially nice on chilly days—no metal that’s cold to the touch.

The blade is made with reinforced nylon and shaped to pull plenty of water. The Hooked T-Grip is comfortable on the hands and offers great maneuverability.

The Waypoint is designed for those new to canoeing and those who enjoy getting on the water occasionally, like at the family cabin. Outfitters will find it an ideal paddle as well—affordable and durable season after season.

The Waypoint  weighs 27 ounces, offers 105 square inches of blade surface, and is available in lengths from 48-62 inches (in 2-inch increments). Its MSRP is $99.95 USD (2026 price).
