Jason grew up fishing. As a young boy on the banks of a local lake with his father. Later, he spent considerable time in a boat with his grandfather. They primarily targeted sunfish with crickets and the occasional catfish. After going a couple of decades without wetting a line, the loss of both of those men in the same year led him back to fishing. Never enjoying the bank, Jason turned to canoes and soon his first kayak. As he entered the kayak scene he soon realized there was a large community of kayak bass fishing anglers. Having never targeted bass, Jason started reaching out to and joining up with these tournament anglers to learn. After several years of experience now, reading and studying and gaining a ton of on the water experience with several local anglers, he enters 2019 ready to continue learning and spending as much time on the water as possible.
Jason is co-director for a kayak tournament club, Central Tennessee Kayak Anglers (CTKA). Jason also works with Hook1 Outfitters, Denali Rods and Rogue Fishing Co. His goal for the 2018 fishing season was to qualify and fish for the Tennessee State Championship. Jason met that goal finishing 28th out of 64 anglers from across the state. Jason also qualified in 2018 and again for 2019 for the Kayak Bass Fishing (KBF) National Championship. His goals for this year are simple - learn and improve and never let the competition take the blessing away from being in the outdoors.
